The 24 Day Challenge is done, and in those 24 days, I have lost 7 pounds and 11.5 inches (3 of those from my waist alone)! I have gained a lot of energy (for example… right after finishing a 5k this weekend, I suggested we pack up and go camping!!) as well as a renewed confidence in myself. While the weight loss is amazing, the most stunning result I have noticed in myself is that I no longer need my medication for depression and anxiety. That is a huge deal! As I said in a prior update, I love this stuff so much, I signed up as an independent distributor. I have been privileged to meet so many inspiring people in the past two weeks, and feel like the more I learn, the more I love Advocare. I would love to share more about it, or my experience, so if you want to know more, please contact me.
This past Sunday, we ran the Color Run as a family for Forced Family Fun.This activity was my idea, and I was so happy everyone was so enthusiastic! As the organizer of this FFF event, I decided the scoring – 1 point for fastest guy, 1 point for fastest girl, and 1 point for the most colorful.
For those who aren’t familiar, the Color Run is a 5k where participants wear white and are covered with a different color (dyed cornstarch) at each kilometer.
Stuart and I decided in advance to run together and start off slow. When we started, we started FAST and it was a little too much for me, so we ended up walking about half – alternating walking and running. After the race, I gave Stuart a hard time about starting so fast, and discovered that he thought he was going slow. I think I need to find a running partner with shorter legs!
We came into the finish running and were greeted by Stuart’s dad, Jim (fastest guy) and Stuart’s brother, Geoff. I won fastest girl!! When the other ladies finished, we walked over the the stage where we all threw colors around – it was a thick cloud of color and hard to breathe, but so beautiful! Right before we left, we grabbed a bystander to be our impartial judge on “most colorful” – Jim won, although looking at this picture, I think we all should have won a point for that!
